Never Enough Time

Well it has been ages since I have posted about what is going on in our lives. It has been a crazy few months since the wedding. Matthew has been busy at work and playing in a variety of golf tournaments. I have gotten back into the swing of school and never seem to have time to slow down. I am learning very quickly that life is always going to be busy and we must take time to enjoy one another.

Our life is not like many other couples. Matthew works random and demanding hours most of the time. He works everyday of the week and has NO weekends! This is so frustrating sometimes to the both of us. His off day is Monday and he is usually playing in a tournament. Matthew does a great job at working his schedule to allow us to share time together during the weekend. Every Friday night is a date night and we love to hang out with close friends having dinner and just socializing. We spend out Saturday mornings laying around on the couch with our precious puppies! Although our weekends are different than most, we love having the time that we do together.

Matthew and I are so different but so perfect for each other. We are learning everyday how much we love each other and how we bring out the best in each other. He keeps me grounded and calm.... Well he keeps me as calm as possible! I have one more week until fall break and I am biting at the bit for a break. Momma and Daddy here I come with your adorable grandpuppies. I look forward to seeing my parents and enjoying small town life for a few days!

Changes With A New Edition

Wow! Life has been a whirlwind lately. The word that comes to my mind when looking back at the past few months is "CHANGE." Matthew and I are in our home and loving it. We are still working on a master bedroom. Hopefully the guy will be able to start on it this week. Our goal is to have it done before the wedding in June.

Matthew and I decided our baby Hagen needed a friend. We looked and looked and finally came upon our precious Jonesy. Of course we adopted her as soon as we saw her precious face. I was extremely worried that Hagen would be very jealous of a new puppy. I was so surprised and happy to see that Hagen fell in love with Jonesy as much as we did. They are best friends and yet so very different. Matthew says Hagen is like her mother....all over the place and Jonesy takes after her dad...calm, cool, and collected. I must say Matthew was dead on with his thoughts. We have an active home with two wonderful puppies. They are our world and we enjoy them so much.

I am getting so excited about our big day in June! I will try and post as we continue to approach the most special day in our lives!

Closing Day!

Today was a monumental day in our lives as one! Matthew and I have been waiting for this day for a few months now. It all started in October when we decided that we wanted to buy a home in Chattanooga. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Wow is all I can say about this process. For any of you who have gone through it you all understand! The looking process was probably the most interesting. Matthew and I learned so much about each other during this adventure. I learned that I stress a lot over what it looks like to start with....I had to explain to Matthew and our realtor that I was a visual person. Many houses I just couldn't even imagine what I could do to it to make it look nice. haha Luckily Matthew and I found the perfect house for him and I. It is a beautiful brick house with a great yard and full basement. Well I refer to the basement as the "man cave." The house is just what we were both looking for. It has a wonderful den area and a FANTASTIC kitchen! I am most excited about my spacious kitchen. Matthew was pumped to have his very own room for his golf mementos. I am very thrilled for this room as well. Matthew is quite the golfer and his many tournament wins have accumulated many trophies and plaques. The room is going to be a great place to show all his many accomplishments! After signing a MILLION papers within the last month and another MILLION today I am pleased to say Matthew and I are finally HOME OWNERS!!! Words can't describe how excited I am for this move in our lives as one. The moving begins Friday........

DREAMS

As a little girl I always dreamt of getting married and having a family. It is crazy how fast we grow up and all those dreams start coming true. It seems as though Matthew and I were two people that were very happy with where we were in life. I was graduating college and looking forward to start my teaching career. Matthew was working as a golf pro and striving to improve his own golf game. It just so happens that I needed a summer job and the country club had an opening. It was very helpful that I had always loved the game of golf. Now I must tell you that my approach to playing golf is very different to Matthew's approach. I am sure most people that play with us are always wondering why has he not fixed my swing yet. Well for future reference, it is not that he hasn't tried! I must say I have a little bit of stubborn running through me. As the summer went on Matthew and I became very fond of each other. We spent most days together and enjoyed being around each other. I always thought he was a hoot and he always seemed to have this calming affect on me. Needless to say, I am far from calm on most days. I am realizing more and more each day how perfect he is for me. He is constantly teaching me how to not worry about things I can not change. I feel as though Matthew makes me a better person. I am thankful that God placed me with a man that helps me to fix/overcome my enemy, called stress.

I am thankful for so much in my life and I enjoy living out my childhood dreams. Matthew and I are looking forward to starting our one life together and all the changes that are coming our way!
